Yes, cars have been around………..and even in their earlier existance, they were quite the pieces of art.    Thanks to Allen Dobbs for attending this Celebration and suppling his pictures.    What’s a car show/clebration without the Phillie Phanatic?    The Phanantic was all over this show!

Yes, Las Vegas cars do exist….but not in this context.   Those who have deep pockets may have felt at home……..unformunately for me, I only have a shallow pocket.   Either way, the pictures speak for themselves – where if you wanted to, you can pretty much drive home any of the cars on display.

Tthe 27th annual Uni-Select Auto Plus NHRA Nationals had its stop at the Maple Grove Raceway.   This was the half-way point in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship.   Lucky to attend was Allen Dobbs who was there from beginning to end!   His pictures are in 3 separate albums listed below.    In the meantime, hope the teasers give you a taste of what an NHRA event is like!

The annual crowd of VW owners made their way to the 2011 H20 International Show held just ouside Ocean City, MD. Although the weather was overcast and a chance of ran was present, everything to even the newest VW models were out in full force. This show even included a ‘TOP DAWG’ event from which was by “INVITE ONLY”. Only if your car was at the BBQ the day before the show, you would you be considered for this top title – and the winner gets $1000!!!

On Saturday Sept 17th, I attended the 35th Annual Diesel Trucking Nationals at Raceway Park.  It’s been a few years since I attended but not a whole lot has changed other than the event has grown bigger!  The pits were overflowing with race and show trucks.  On the quarter mile there were a lot of big rigs racing the largest class was EXP (diesel pickups).  New Jersey girl Maya Sieber from Ice Road Truckers was the Grand Marshall and had a long autograph line all day.  Then at 7PM it was feature show time.  The 8 Monster Trucks and 7 Jets including Bob Motz and his awesome Jet Truck put on a great show!

Why spend the weekend at home when you could have visited the annual Ocean City NJ Rod Run and Boardwalk Event.    Yes cars, but on the boardwalk….no way…classic street rods, hoods popped up and on display. ?
